The need
The Kitgum District in northern Uganda has been ravaged
by war for over 20 years. The only real hope for the
young people of this traumatised community lies in the
power of God’s Word to bring forgiveness, reconciliation
and spiritual healing
Making a difference
Our partner organisation Childcare Kitgum Servants
(CKS) – a project begun by Australian grandmother Irene
Gleeson (OAM) – helps the disadvantaged children and
youth of Kitgum to reach their full potential. CKS feeds
and educates nearly 10,000 children at four schools.
We need your support to provide each of these children
with a Bible of their own, so that they can also be
nourished spiritually. “Get the Word Out!” is a program
focused on children, but anyone can get involved.
You, or a child you know, will only need to:
- Fill out a Bible Gift Certificate from the Bible Society; then
- Personalise it: from yourself, your family, church or group
Send the Certificate back to the Bible Society and we will
stick it in a Children’s Bible , then put it into the hands of
a child who will hear all about Jesus and His greatest gift.
“I thank God for giving me this opportunity to have a future”
- Godfrey Odong, CKS Primary Student
Reaching the goal
