Youth Force

Ignite!
‘Ignite’ is a film festival which brings out big truths through short films. Bible Society is now one of the major sponsors.‘Ignite’ seeks to encourage people to understand the Bible and get creative with the Christian message, bringing the Word to light through film.

The theme of last year’s festival was H2O, where the entrants had to select a passage from the Bible that involved water and produce a short film based around the passage. James Cogswell and Will Mitchell (pictured) took out the ‘golden sparkie’ award, Josh Yeo took out the people’s choice award and Kids Plus from Annandale Community church scored the ‘brightspark’ award.

This year’s theme for ‘Ignite’ is fire, so short film-makers – get your thinking caps on!

Sons of Korah
Two great tours are planned for 2006 by our great musical partners, Sons of Korah. Last year, they blew audiences away with their compelling music in tours stretching from Canberra and Dubbo to the Blackstump Music Festival, Sydney, and Byron Bay.Their music is based on the Psalms – bringing their passion and drama to life for a generation, hungry fora spirituality that is deep and real. Their concerts raised $5,000 for our HIV/AIDS project in Kenya andUganda, and around $9,000 for our prison project inSouth Africa.

This year, they’ll be appearing from 21st to 26th March, from Bathurst to Wollongong and from 17th to26th November, from western Sydney to Byron Bay.

Misson 2006

A most exciting part of the last year’s work has been our short term mission trips for young people. This year, we’ll be staging two trips. The first will take place in the July school holidays, in conjunction with Covenant Christian School. We’ll be taking 20 Year 10 and 11 students to the aboriginal Theological college, Wontulp Bi-Buya, in Cairns.

In December this year and January 2007 we’reembarking on our most adventurous mission yet– taking a team of 10 young people under 25 tobe part of a medical children’s mission on theThai/Burma border.

topUP2006
topUP2006 is a conference that trains and equips children’s workers to better communicate the message of the Bible to youngsters. It’s a great resource for ministry workers, Scripture and school teachers, pastors and teenage leaders to bring the Bible to life, using creative communication.
