How about a Hymnfest?
They are always great events, with magnificent churches filled with marvellous music and hearty singing. Hymn fests have been staged in a range of towns and cities, such asNewcastle, Canberra, Terrigal, Lismore and Dapto. At Lismore, one visiting husband and wife were so moved by the event they have asked if their town can have the honour of hosting a Hymnfest early in 2006.

People continually comment on how they hear and sing hymns at Hymnfests that they haven’t enjoyed for many years. They also appreciate the wide variety of musicalstyles, from the grand old hymns of centuries past, to modern day Christian music, choir items, gospel musicand soloist items. They are lots of fun!

Most of all, people are glad to also be able to support the work of Bible Society NSW in making the Bible heard in our culture and world. It’s a great opportunity for us to directly communicate many of the important projects to which Bible Society is committed. Over the pastyear, our Hymnfests have raised more than $13,500 that goes directly to supporting these important programmes.We are also greatly encouraged to see the committed andenthusiastic planning of local church committees, as these events also involve a fair bit of hard work.
