Marina Prior for ‘Celebration 2006’
One of Australia’s most popular leading ladies, Marina Prior, is to star in the Bible Society’s 2006 ‘Celebration of Wordand Song’. Among many popular roles, Marina is perhaps best known for her role as Christine, in the Australian production of ‘Phantom of the Opera’.

Marina will host the television presentation of the show and also perform a number of songs, as we re-tell the Easter story. She is the Good will Ambassador for Samaritan’s Purse, one of our partners with whom we are developing a Bible distribution project for the Asia Pacific region in 2006. Marina says – ‘I am so excited to be a part of the Celebration of Word and Song. God is doing amazing things across our nation and it is such an honour to be involved inHis work at such a significant time! I believe that countless lives will be touched and changed with His message, as we celebrate Him together.’

Once again, this great event will be seen right across Australia and New Zealand, a televised highlight of Easter 2006. It will look at the Easter story through the eyes of the apostle Peter. It charts his close relationship with Jesus, his devastating denial, then the death and resurrection of his Lord. This magnificent production will again use only the words of the Bible, told in spoken word, music and drama.Musical Director Steve Wyatt and Producer Marcus Cheong are directing the music and key production elements for the programme.

Celebration of Word and Song is presented by Bible Society NSW in association with the churches of Sydney. We also partner with Anglican Media and Adventist Mediaon the production and technical aspects of the show. Not only will it be broadcast around our region, the Adventist media network will take our Celebration around the world on its extensive network.
