Arrow The World

The Arkventure Bible Explorer
‘The Bible is fun!!!’ That was just one of many enthusiastic responses to the Arkventure Bible Explorer which has been on the road around Belgium. It’s a 25-metre trailer filled with Bible related multi-media displays, aimed at children aged between nine and 12. One child said after emerging from the Arkventure – ‘Nobody would want to miss a visit to Arkventure.’ The response has also been positive from many teachers, who have also had the chance to learn more about the Bible in an engaging and entertaining way. As well as opening up the world of the Bible, Arkventure has also brought many churches together in a successful cooperative ‘venture’.

Thirsting for the Bible
Liu Suquin performs a much needed task at her church in Henan Tianguang, China. On chilly mornings she’s been happily serving a hot drink to church goers since the building opened in 1994. When she bought her first Bible in 1987 she was initially disappointed that it was written in traditional Chinese script. She cried out to God – ‘What’s the point of me buying a Bible if I can’t read it?’

But through prayers, tears and with the help of her church, Liu can now read most parts of the Bible and is thrilled that the Scriptures are now available in the simplified Chinese script. Now she says ‘I can satisfy my thirst for God’s Word.’

God’s Word to an Indian chief
In Paraguay, an Indian chief was rushed to hospital very sick, bleeding and dying. A pastor brought him an audio version of the New Testament. He told the chief – ‘I want you to hear the voice of God coming through these tapes.’

Initially the chief rejected the pastor’s approach – ‘Your book has nothing for me – it doesn’t mean anything to me.’ A few hours after the pastor left him just one tape, the chief called out – ‘Do you have any more? I want more!’ Three months later he returned home declaring – ‘I want to go back to my people and teach them the truth and life that I have found here.’
