You will have noticed the way Bibles@work has been delivered this time is different from in the past. As we continue to monitor the cost of producing this excellent magazine we realise it is still more than we can afford. From the next issues the number of pages will be reduced and we will continue to fold it into the DL shape, thus reducing by half the cost of production and mailing.
Our donation income has fallen in recent years and we are continuing to make significant changes to ensure we effectively support the real work for which the Society exists. Sadly, on the human front, we have said goodbye to a number of staff who have be made redundant. Curiously, over the years we have come to recognise that when our economy is buoyant, the support for causes like Bible Society falls. When the economy isn’t going so well, people tend to be more generous towards others.
The way we gather information is also changing dramatically. From this issue Bibles@work will be available on our website and if you are a user of the web you can now read it online or download it. This means the cost of printing and postage is saved and we are able to utilise that for Bible work. Please advise us if you want to receive the magazine in this way so we can take you off the mailing list.
If you haven’t visited our website of late please do so as it has changed and many new features are now available. You can subscribe to a range of free e-newsletters which are designed for different aspects of our work, keeping you and your prayers informed.
Each item in this edition is only part of the story. More detail about our projects, opportunities to become involved, support and prayer requests are all available in more detail on our website. If you don’t have access to the web or find it difficult to navigate, a note to us means we will mail the information and ensure you don’t miss out.
Once again thank you for standing with us before the throne of our God for the people of this world who are without God’s life changing Word.
