Joining The Jesus Team
Two very different schools - two very different communities. In partnership with the Wontulp Bi Buya College, Bible Society NSW took students from the Arden Anglican school and Covenant Christian school to North Queensland and the communities of Mossman Gorge and Yarrabah. Bronwyn 'Millie' Sharp was on her first internship to Yarrabah and says – 'There's just no way to describe the joyous faces of the children as they interacted with the fantastic young people from Covie and vice versa. The team put so much time and energy into everything, from balloon modelling to giving testimonies, performing skits and running small groups.
At the end of the week we had an opportunity for the children to respond if they wanted to 'join the Jesus team', and we had quite a few make that decision.' Josh from Arden describes his time at Mossman Gorge – 'It's an experience everyone will remember for the rest of our lives. Exhausting, arduous but tremendously rewarding.'
As they left both communities, there were lots of tears among the students, with their eyes opened and hearts changed.
