Youth on a Mission - Australia

Over the recent June-July school holidays, Mark Brown and Millie Sharp from our youth team lead mission teams of high schoolers to sunny North Queensland. While there, the students had an opportunity to learn about Indigenous Ministry, particularly through Bible Society’s project at Wontulp Bi Buya Indigenous Theological College. They were also given hands on experience in 3 different communities - Mossman Gorge, Yarrabah and Kowanyama where the students ran children’s programs with the local kids. Many great relationships were fostered and the good news about Jesus was shared.

Youth on a Mission - Cambodia

Our Children’s Ministry Co-ordinator found a recent trip to Cambodia quite an experience. Rick reports “I thought they were kidding when I was told there wouldn’t be any toilets at the villages we would be visiting to run medical clinic and distribute the Bible backpacks to the children. Until I arrived at or first village where we were told there were no toilets - just go for a walk into the bush! Over a 2 week period we gave out 1000 Bible backpacks to children and the medical team treated over 1700 patients. The children were some of the poorest underprivileged kids I had ever seen yet they were the happiest Kids I’d ever come across in my life.”

On the road with Bike for Bibles
a special report by Sarah Chapple

“Bike for Bibles is an amazing experience, one which is becoming a yearly family event, both in our house and among our extended family. I am the oldest of four girls, and I first did a ride with my dad in 2001. All my sisters are now involved. This year, with our

Papa as a roadie, my cousins, uncle and great friends, we will be riding from Goulburn to complete around 1000km. We love Bike for Bibles because it gives us a chance to get on our bikes, be part of a team and raise money to spread God’s Word. When you are riding through beautiful country, alongside a great bunch of people, it is easy to think, ‘It doesn’t get much better than this,’ which is why so many of us keep coming back year after year. Bike for Bibles is a fantastic ministry and one which we would love to see continue for years to come.
