Jesus. All About Life Sydney 2009 - The Countdown Begins
In September Sydney’s church and denominational leaders came together to launch the 12-month countdown to the Jesus. All about life Sydney media campaign. Similar campaigns are also planned for Newcastle, Wollongong and regional areas of NSW during 2009.
Jesus. All about life is a six-week, prime time television advertising campaign, supported by radio and print media, that seeks to raise awareness of Jesus and encourage people to find out what Jesus ‘had to say about life’ and to motivate quiet Christians to share their faith. During the six week campaign it is estimated that 90% of Sydney will see or hear about the campaign at least ten times.
Daniel Willis, CEO of Bible Society NSW, was delighted with the unprecedented show of support for the campaign from Sydney Christian leaders representing a wide range of denominations. “There is a real excitement about what will unfold over the coming year in the lead up to the campaign” he said.
Pastor Bell from the Hillsong Church is pleased to be part of the campaign. “Absolutely phenomenal. I think anything that brings Churches together is wonderful. For most of us, who find it hard to share our faith, the campaign is really going to make that easier and bring it to the forefront. So conversations at workplaces, at family BBQs, picnics and where ever people go they will all be able to have a chat about what they saw on TV, on a billboard on the back of a bus – I can’t wait,”
Rachel Hockings, Bible Society’s Project Manager for the Sydney campaign said “Our goal is to have 1,500 Sydney Churches register their support in the lead up to the campaign. For a small registration fee of $100 Churches will receive a registration pack containing training and promotional DVDs as well information on campaign resources”. She added “Registration is quick and easy – all you have to do is go on-line at www.jesusallaboutlife.com.au and follow the prompts.”
