What is a Bequest?
A Charitable Bequest (often called a Legacy) is a gift of personal property, money, shares, stock, bonds or personal possessions, owned by a person at the time of death, which is directed by the provisions of that person's Will to serve a religious, educational, political, or general social purpose, to benefit mankind, the community or a particular segment of it.
If you need to include a clause in a Will because you wish to include Bible Society NSW as a beneficiary, please find below some suggested wording.

1. If you wish to leave a sum of money to Bible Society NSW
I BEQUEATH the sum of $_____________ to Bible Society NSW (ABN 45 843 211 237) , to be applied (for the general purposes) OR (a specific purpose or item to be stated), the receipt of the Chief Executive Officer or other proper officer of Bible Society NSW will be a complete discharge to my Trustee for the payment of this amount and my Trustee will not be bound to see to the application of the funds.
2. If you wish to leave part of your estate to Bible Society NSW
I direct my Executor/s to divide the residue of my Estate, both real and personal, into ___________ equal shares and I BEQUEATH ____________ shares to Bible Society NSW (ABN 45 843 211 237), to be applied (for the general purposes of Bible Society NSW) OR (a specific request). The receipt of the Chief Executive Officer
or other proper officer of Bible Society NSW will be a complete
discharge to my Trustee for the payment of this amount and my Trustee
will not be bound to see to the application of the funds.
3. If you wish to leave specific property to Bible Society NSW
I BEQUEATH the following items of my property and effects: (describe these here)
to Bible Society NSW (ABN 45 843 211 237), to be applied (for the general purposes of Bible Society NSW) OR (a specific purpose to be declared). The receipt
of the Chief Executive Officer
or other proper officer of Bible Society NSW will be a complete
discharge to my Trustee for the payment of this amount and my Trustee
will not be bound to see to the application of the bequest.
